What to Watch in Women’s Sports | Week of 8/17/26

The WNBA playoff race is getting tighter by the day. Seattle has been officially eliminated from playoff contention, and Connecticut joined them Saturday after a loss to the New York Liberty. On the other end, Minnesota and the defending champion Las Vegas Aces have both locked up playoff spots.

Over in the WPBL the San Francisco Firebells have jumped out to the best record in the league behind No. 1 overall pick Kelsie Whitmore. History keeps being made every time these teams take the field.
